Our speed event horses are our hobby.  We have been running barrels and poles for over a decade now.  We have raised
a World Champion Barrel Horse and have even had a horse run at the NFR in barrels.  We attend local and out of state rodeos and jackpots, from right here in Pilot Point all the way to Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Boomer - aka A Sharp Move
Boomer was the second barrel horse we bought.  He was a 4 year old and had been trained in poles and barrels by Gene Fletcher.  Charlie ran him in barrels and Jason in Poles.  Jason placed at the Congress and World in Junior Poles on him.  Charlie was the IGRA Finals rodeo Champion on him.  Boomer was really working well in the barrels for me.  I just had this feeling he was a special horse.  I called my long time friend and NFR barrel racer Kristin Weaver in late 1999 and told her that I thought I had a special horse.  She took him to his first pro rodeo just a few weeks later, where he won his first time out and he was only 4!.  The next year Kristin and Charmayne James asked if they could take him on the road and we agreed.  Charmayne ran Boomer for a 4 month period and won over $35,000 on him.  He won rodeos all over the Northwest and Canada.

One of the most exciting and rewarding experiences we have ever had in the horse business was going to "The Daddy Of
Em All", Cheyenne Frontier Days.  Boomer was 2nd in the first go, then he won the second go and went on to win the average buckle at Cheyenne.  Somehow, during the awards presentation, Charmayne found me in the stands and rode up and gave me the buckle!  A moment I will never forget!

The following year we decided Boomer needed to be a pro horse and the decision was made to sell him.  Sherry Lynn Johnson bought him.  Sherry Lynn had success but Boomer's career was cut short due to an injury.  Boomer gave me some amazing memories and a great friendship with the greatest barrel racer, Charmayne James.

Boomette
Boomette is Boomer's full sister.  Her name came about from my friend and barrel coach Dave Stinson.  I had bought her as a weanling and sent her to Dave to start as a 3 year old.  My inability to come up with a good name for her led Dave to call her Boomette!

Boomette was so smart and talented, like her brother.  Dave broke her, I seasoned her during her 4 year old year and Kristin Weaver ran her in the futurities.  Boomette did very well at the futurities but the 2004 AQHA World Show is where she shinned and she was the World Champion in Junior Barrels.  I then sold her to Whitney Baker and she won several pro rodeos and large barrel races.  I bred her to top barrel sire Dash Ta Fame, and her daughter Rockette Ta Fame will be running in the futurities in 2009.

Smokey At The Bar
"Smokey" was a great horse.  He and I really bonded.  I placed at the AQHA World Show in Senior Barrels on him and won many jackpots on him.  He is now retired at Dyer ranch where he is Mark Dyers riding horse.

Jet Time Dillon
"Red" is a Congress Champion Pole Horse.  Jason qualified him for the 2008 World Show, but because of Jason's knee
injury I had to run him.  He placed in the top 10 of the Senior Poles.  Our friend Dan Houck is currently running Red.  Dan has only been riding for a year and Red and Dan are a great match.  Dan has placed in the top five consistently.

Cmegoby
"Frosty" came to me as a project horse.  He is a track record holder in Oklahoma but he was a run off in barrels.  Frosty took a year to start working the barrels and learn the poles.  Tommy Kirkeby purchased him in 2008 and went on to be the 2008 APHA Reserve World Champion in Novice Amateur Poles.
